Who Could Benefit from the Migun Therapeutic Massage Bed?

The short answer is everyone! If you have a pulse, this will benefit you.

Recognized as a medical instrument in 1994, the Migun Therapeutic Massage Bed combines far infrared rays, heat therapy, and acupuncture in one. The word migun means “beautiful health” in Korean, and that is what we at the Alpine Clinic want our patients to have!

Some benefits include:

  • Improves immune system
  • Eliminates toxins
  • Reduces stress
  • Relieves joint and muscle pain due to arthritis
  • Restores circulation and returns vitality and wholeness to the body

How Does It Work?

The Migun Therapeutic Massage Bed’s patented technology uses Far Infrared Rays, which refer to a specific type of light (heat energy) that exists beneath the visible spectrum. When the heating system in the Migun Bed is turned on, Far Infrared Rays enter as deep as 4-5 cm into the body. Far Infrared Rays have been proven to increase blood circulation, the lymphatic system, metabolism, and boost the immune system; it accelerates the recovery process of any damaged cell because of increased circulation of blood and lymph fluid.

Jade is a natural mineral that contains magnesium and calcium. It emits far-infrared rays 30% quicker while heating up and 30% slower when cooling down than any other viable source. Because of these unique qualities, jade is ideal for heat therapy and healing.

Heat therapy dilates the blood vessels of the muscles. This process increases the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the muscles, helping to heal the damaged tissue. Heat application also facilitates stretching the soft tissues around the spine, including muscles, connective tissue, and adhesions. Consequently, with heat therapy, there will be a decrease in stiffness as well as injury with an increase in flexibility and overall feeling of comfort.

How Do I Get the Most Benefit?

The providers at the Alpine Clinic recommend that patients use the Migun Therapeutic Massage Bed at least twice a week (three or more times per week is optimal) to experience the most benefits.

What Can I Expect?

Come in loose, comfortable clothing. You will be instructed to remove your shoes, belt, and other restrictive clothing items but to stay fully clothed while you are on the Migun Bed. A staff member will ensure that your body is positioned correctly and that your experience is as comfortable as possible.

It is common to experience some mild discomfort for the first few sessions. If you are experiencing unreasonable discomfort, you will able to contact a staff member for further assistance.

An improvement reaction, or healing reaction, is a temporary process your body goes through when it reacts to treatment in a positive way. In most cases, this improvement reaction is a sign that the body is detoxifying. Improvement reactions are often confused with “side effects.” An improvement reaction is a sign of healing and detoxification.

A full Migun Therapeutic Massage Bed session is 35 minutes from start to finish. Your session will be scheduled for an hour to allow for getting set up on the bed, making adjustments for your comfort, etc.
