A Basic Understanding of Nutritional Therapy

What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy is an evidence-based approach to improving and maximizing someone’s health potential. Nutrition has a huge role in someone’s mental health, it isn’t all about physical health. Individuals who have unhealthy eating habits, often suffer mentally. This is because disordered eating and most cases of unhealthy relationships to food are caused by mental illness and mental blocks.

How it works

Your brain needs a lot, in order to function properly. If you don’t feed your brain the right types of things, then every aspect of your being and body begins to suffer, until your brain is given what it needs again. It needs a lot of energy to produce all of the proper neurotransmitters, the chemicals naturally produced to send signals through the nervous system in your body. Nutrient deficiencies lead to mental health problems. This often isn’t the only issue stemming from the issue, but addressing the nutritional aspects will often alleviate the problem and help us get to the root of it.

Nutrients needed for brain health

We’ll spend time discussing your specific diet and your daily habits, in order to formulate the specific needs you have. There isn’t some cookie-cutter formula that works perfectly for every single person. There are, however, a few key nutrients that your body and brain need in order to function properly and elevate you to a clearer mind and better quality of life.

Here are some of the key ingredients to help your brain reach a healthy state to help your mental health:

  • Omega 3 Fatty Acids
